Finding Flow and Renewal: Embracing the Journey of Self-Care

After my day at Porteau Cove with my girlfriend, I have had time to reflect on how seamlessly everything unfolded. The experience left a profound impact on me, shifting how I approach my work, my writing, and my connection with others. These last two blogs have shown me the importance of going deeper, not just for myself but for my readers and clients as well.

When I am in the flow, when the time is right for growth and new steps, it is incredible how quickly things can happen in my life. This experience reminded me to take the time to reflect and be aware of how this unfolds in our own lives.

As the evening progressed, I felt an overwhelming surge of energy, my heart wide open, ready to give and let everything pour out of me. Instead of stopping to wonder what the next day would bring, I dove into my courses, life, dreams, and blogging. I felt a powerful drive to help others open their hearts and minds to their potential and growth.

Reflecting on how my emotions and creativity were overflowing, I even felt the urge to burst into tears—tears of joy, excitement, relief, and newfound discovery. I had forgotten how vital it is to honor the time of discovery, to peel back the layers, to give my energy fully, and to truly listen to the messages and whispers that come to me. But I also realized that there comes a point when I need to stop, release, and rest.

It took me a couple of hours to accept this, but once I did, I let go and focused on self-care—resting, nourishing my body, walking in nature, and sitting by the ocean to recharge. I spent quality time with my husband, reminding myself that the relationships we cherish also need our attention and time.

By the second afternoon, I tested myself to see if I was ready to return to blogging and reconnect with Soulful Guidance. The answer came swiftly—no, not yet. I reminded myself that I would know when the time was right, and indeed, that moment came early the next morning. At 5:30 a.m., instead of fighting it or begging for another hour of sleep, I got up and started my day. By 10:00 a.m., I had accomplished what felt like a full day’s worth of work and chores, and then I went back out to reconnect with nature and recharge once again.

I took a moment from writing this blog to sit on our patio, close my eyes, and let the sun's warmth wash over me. The fresh ocean air, the serenity of the moment, all reminded me of the importance of self-care. I indulged in a bath with one of my special bath bombs, called "Blessings," lit a candle, and turned down the lights. I decided against music, craving the peace and quiet to be fully present with my thoughts. These small steps might seem insignificant, but they are essential. We often forget how crucial it is to take care of ourselves, regardless of what we are working on—whether it is a blog, spiritual work, or just everyday life.

As I reflect on this, I realize how much energy goes into mindful, conscious work. It is not a scattered, subconscious effort, but a deliberate, thoughtful process. Sitting in the sun reminded me that sometimes, even a few minutes of stillness can lead to a full day of recharging. This allows me to give more to others, to my next blog, and to my clients, friends, and family.

We are always evolving, changing, and growing. There are always moments of growth, often surprising ourselves with how far we have come when we are open to the possibilities. Writing this blog and taking the time to recharge has sparked the idea for my next blog, a reminder of how being in the flow and allowing stillness can lead to life’s miracles and surprises.

REFLECTIVE QUESTION

Reflect on the moments when you have felt completely in sync with your life, where everything seemed to align effortlessly. How can you create space for more of these moments, allowing both growth and stillness to guide your journey?
